Meet the Author
A.D. Merci
A.D. Merci is the pen name of Adelaide Merci Barbosa. She hopes her pen name is a little easier to remember and spell. But behind the name is a storyteller who has carried a fantasy world within her for as long as she can remember, first sharing stories with family and friends and eventually discovering a call to write high fantasy.
Inspired by Tolkien and fascinated by linguistics, A.D. Merci writes fantasy that seeks to honor the Christian worldview while inviting both author and reader to delight in the God-given gift of imagination—as sub-creators made to delight in using the gifts given them by their Creator. Creativity is worship!
She believes the stories we read (and the characters we come to love) become part of the company we keep. And because stories have a unique way of shaping what our hearts love, she understands that fantasy does more than entertain: it holds the potential to train hearts that recognize, pursue, and delight in what God loves.
