Free 12 Week Creative Writing Course for Lovers of Christian Story

Publish your own short story, use it as summer writing fun for your kids, or just see what our community's all about!

(No live event attendance necessary. It's all done via email.)

7 weeks results in one story & 12 weeks results in two

Why We Host This Event: We publish as many submitted stories as possible (1) to nourish the community of Christian story lovers; (2) to share the truth, beauty, and goodness Christian stories celebrate; and (3) to encourage the body of Christ!

By hosting this event, we hope to:

> Give Christian writers a chance to publish their work (and gain a piece for their published portfolios)

> Inspire Christian writers to set aside some time each week to write (even if you don't submit for publication)

> Encourage one another through sharing Christian story & leading by example (use the voice God gave you to encourage

others!)

What We Publish: Short stories (5 pages or less) from diverse Christian voices, ages, styles, and perspectives that are united around themes that showcase light in the darkness and unshakeable hope! Anistemi Publishing primarily serves young authors (ages 8 and up), so we do ask that content be appropriate for family story time (more on what that means later). Visit our Open Access Library to read previously published work. The library is a free source of worthy story! We publish every story we possibly can; they're ranked by clarity of theme and authentic voice.

What You Recieve: Publication!

+ notification if a story has been selected for publication

+ one round of high-level editorial feedback

+ formatting services

+ an illustrated cover

+ digital publication hosted in our free Open Access Library (visit to read examples)

+ a special feature in our Anistemi Newsletter for lovers of Christian story

+ a customized direct link to your work that you may use in your writing portfolio, website, resume, etc.

+ the opportunity to share a link to your website, blog, or online presence where fans can connect with you

Who Is Eligible: All Christian creative writers. All ages. We love family participation! Parents can submit on their own—or use the content to give kids a summer writing activity (emails are written for young adult writers & instructors; we include a simple, downloadable worksheet young writers can complete each week).

When It Happens: May through August. All stories must be submitted by August 31st to be considered for publication.

How You Participate: It's simple. After signing up, you'll receive a series of 12 emails that deliver details, encouragement, & inspiration... and a weekly writing prompt designed to help you process your ideas and shape them into a story (the content makes a great starting point for first time writers but also reflects on story elements in ways that help even seasoned authors). On Week 13, you'll receive a private invitation to submit your work for publication in our Open Access Library.

How We Protect Your Rights: Your copyright is your own; you retain full rights to your story. You may share previously published stories if you have permission from previous publishers to do so, and you may publish our story elsewhere (as long as the other publishers don't require exclusive rights). If you wish us to remove your story from the library, we ask that you provide us written notice (email is fine) to remove your story from our library and 6 months to make that happen. See detailed terms and conditions, and contact us with questions.

What We Own: The cover art and the specifical digital format we create for our library. That's it! We give you a custom link to your work for use in writing portfolios, websites, etc.

Katherine

Instead of receiving an unbending formula of how a story must mathematically hold together, the Workshop was carefully crafted to aid every writer in his or her own writing journey through any genre of story they wishe to pursue.

Ellie

There's always more to learn regarding how to write more effectively, so I was hoping for increased guidance on that, which I certainly received! I also wanted to try out the publishing experience and consider publishing through Anistemi.

Addie

I've always enjoyed writing, but somewhere in the back of mind, I've had the wish to see some of my work published. The Summer Publishing Workshop was the first time I ever got to see a bit of my goal accomplished.
